أعلن الاتحاد البرتغالي لكرة القدم، الخميس، في بيان رسمي، وفاة مهاجم منتخبهم ونادي ليفربول، ديوجو جوتا، وشقيقه أندريه سيلفا، لاعب نادي بينافييل، إثر حادث سير مروع وقع في إسبانيا.
وأوضح البيان أن أسرة كرة القدم البرتغالية مصدومة ومفجوعة بالنبأ ووصف الأمر بأنهم “فقدوا بطلين”، مؤكدًا أن ديوجو لم يكن مجرد لاعب مميز يحمل في رصيده قرابة 50 مباراة دولية، بل كان شخصًا استثنائيًا يتمتع بالاحترام والمحبة داخل وخارج الملعب.
وتقدم الاتحاد البرتغالي، باسم رئيسه فرناندو جوميش، بأحر التعازي إلى عائلة جوتا وأندريه، وأصدقائهما، وإلى ناديي ليفربول وبينافييل، مشيرًا إلى أن خسارتهما تمثل فقدانًا لا يمكن تعويضه لكرة القدم البرتغالية.

وكشف البيان أن الاتحاد تواصل مع الاتحاد الأوروبي لكرة القدم “يويفا” لطلب الوقوف دقيقة صمت، قبل مواجهة منتخب البرتغال للسيدات أمام إسبانيا، الخميس، ضمن بطولة أمم أوروبا.
وكان ديوجو جوتا قد توفي صباح اليوم عن عمر ناهز 28 عامًا، بعد أن خرجت سيارته عن الطريق السريع A-52 في مقاطعة زامورا، ما أدى إلى اشتعال النيران بالسيارة ووفاته مع شقيقه على الفور.
ويمثل هذا البيان أول تأكيد رسمي من جهة رياضية بشأن وفاة مهاجم ليفربول، الذي ترك رحيله المفاجئ أثرًا بالغًا في الوسط الرياضي البرتغالي والأوروبي.

“We can’t waste time speaking about that,” he told the BBC. “If next year we are in the Champions League, in the Europa, or the Conference League or not. Or we don’t win a trophy – it is completely different.”
Monchi wants Aston Villa to sign Real Madrid star Güler
As the Midlands side continue their focus on what remains of this season, according to a report from Spain, Monchi has confirmed Aston Villa’s interest in signing Arda Güler from Real Madrid this summer.
The report states that despite injuries affecting his game time this season, when he’s played for Real Madrid, he has impressed with his enormous attacking quality. Villa have now taken notice of his performances, and Monchi sees Guler as the ideal player to reinforce their attack as the Villans look for young players who can continue their growth in the Premier League.
However, any deal Villa wishes to do for Güler will be considered difficult to complete, as Real Madrid consider the Turkey international an important player for their future. The report does state however that Madrid will have to make a decision about what they want to do with Güler soon – the player himself will also have to decide what he thinks is best for him and his career amid such limiting playing time this season.

وتوجه العديد من لاعبي ليفربول إلى البرتغال، يوم الجمعة الماضي، للمشاركة في واجب العزاء قبل حضور الجنازة الرسمية السبت، وسط أجواء حزن شديدة.
وبدأ توافد لاعبو ليفربول على مقر التدريبات يوم الثلاثاء الماضي، استعدادًا للموسم الجديد، حيث تقرر تأجيل العودة عدة أيام بسبب وفاة جوتا.
وظهر لاعبو ليفربول، اليوم الجمعة، وهم يحملون زهرة في أيديهم ويتجهون نحو واجهة ملعب “الأنفيلد”، في الساحة التي امتلأت بتذكارات من جانب الجماهير ولاعبي النادي السابقين، تكريمًا للراحل البرتغالي.
ومن ضمن اللاعبين الذين ظهروا وهم يتجهون بالزهور ناحية الساحة، كان محمد صلاح، الذي نعى جوتا بكلمات مؤثرة يوم الجمعة الماضي (لمطالعة التفاصيل من هنا).
كما تواجد عدة لاعبين مثل فيرجيل فان دايك، أليسون بيكر، جو جوميز، ماك أليستر، كوستاس تسيميكاس، إلى جانب لاعبين جدد مثل فلوريان فيرتز وفريمبونج.
وظهرت علامات الحزن الشديد على وجوه لاعبي ليفربول، بطبيعة الحال، حيث لم يستطيعوا تجاوز الأمر بعد.
وشهدت تلك المراسم تواجد زوجة الراحل، ديوجو جوتا، وأفراد من أسرته، الذين تلقوا المواساة من لاعبي ليفربول.
ويستعد ليفربول لخوض مباراة ودية يوم الأحد المقبل، ضد بريستون، في أولى تجاربهم استعدادًا للموسم الجديد، 2025/26.

Five international captains in Harmanpreet Kaur, Sophie Devine, Sune Luus, Hayley Matthews and Chamari Athapaththu are the first players unveiled as nominees for the inaugural WBBL overseas draft to be held on September 3 ahead of the upcoming season.Four of the five players have been regulars in the WBBL with Devine and Harmanpreet both winning Player of the Tournament awards. Devine is the only player in WBBL history to have been named Player of the Tournament twice doing it in back-to-back seasons in 2019-20 and 2020-21 for two different clubs in Adelaide Strikers and Perth Scorchers, where she is currently the captain.Previously, WBBL clubs have been free to recruit overseas players privately but for the first time this season the WBBL will have an overseas player draft after it was introduced in the men’s BBL last season. International players will nominate for various salary bands with WBBL Platinum players to earn AUD$110,000 to be paid by the clubs from the AUD$732,000 salary cap. Devine can be retained by Scorchers but not Adelaide Strikers having been captain of the Scorchers for the past three seasons. Luus did play nine games with Brisbane Heat in 2018-19 but WBBL rules state that a player who was not on a team in the previous season can only be retained by a club if they have played at the club for a minimum of two seasons and haven’t been contracted to another team. Luus has only played for one season at Heat.Each club is only allowed one retention pick, meaning Renegades will need to choose between Harmanpreet, Matthews and Athapaththu as to which player they would like to retain. They can opt not to retain any of them. They could also re-draft all three if no other club chooses to take them when they are available.The WBBL will announce further draft nominations in the coming weeks.
