Supporters can hazard a pretty good guess as to who they could be, with Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Giovani Lo Celso and Yves Bissouma among the large crop of players who could be sold by Tottenham.

Hojbjerg is entering the final 12 months of his contract in north London, and has seen his role in the team greatly reduced in comparison to previous seasons under Antonio Conte and Jose Mourinho.

The Denmark international has featured in the vast majority of games this season, but an overwhelming number of those appearances have come off the substitute's bench, with Hojbjerg himself admitting he was unhappy with the situation on a recent tour of duty with Denmark.

"Of course, I’m not happy with what’s going on at the club. It’s not a secret, but it’s not something I make a fuss about either," said Hojbjerg on his playing time at Spurs this season.

"I can put my head on the pillow knowing that I’m giving it my all to show the coach that he should believe in me. This is not the case at the moment, and it’s the coach who has to explain why."

Lo Celso is also thought to be unhappy with his Tottenham game time, while Spurs are open to offers for Bissouma following a decline in form. With three of Postecoglou's midfield options all up for the axe, they'll almost certainly need to bring in a new man for the engine room. One player to be linked, among many, is Nottingham Forest star Morgan Gibbs-White.

The Englishman, who's starred at Forest this season, can cover multiple midfield positions and would serve as an ideal replacement for the likes of Lo Celso or Hojbjerg.

According to Football Insider, Tottenham have held discussions over signing Gibbs-White, and it is believed that Levy is in pole position to strike an agreement for the 24-year-old who could cost around £60 million.

Gibbs-White, on a reported £80,000 per week, has also been called "top-class" by Harry Redknapp and praised for his leadership qualities by other figures in the game.

"I really like Gibbs-White, I think he’s a real character and a leader in that Forest team," said pundit John Wenham to Tottenham News.

"He has lots of positive attributes, he can cover a couple of midfield positions, and it wouldn’t take long for him to become a regular for England if he was playing at Spurs."

Quinton de Kock, South Africa’s white-ball captain, has not hit a single ball in more than three months and only plans to return to the nets when “serious cricket,” is ready to resume, which he can’t see that happening “for a while.”The game has not been on de Kock’s agenda since mid-March when he returned home from India with the ODI squad. Their trip was due to include three matches but after one game (which was rained out), the series was postponed as the Covid-19 pandemic took hold.On March 16, CSA suspended all activities and two days later, when de Kock and the traveling party returned home, they were required to self-isolate for 14 days as South Africa went into lockdown. Although restrictions have eased since it came into effect on March 27, the stay-at-home order is into its 101st day and limitations on domestic travel still apply. Cricketers were given the green light to return to training on Monday last week but de Kock has yet to get going.”I haven’t done anything,” he said after being named cricketer of the year at the CSA awards which were held virtually on Saturday. “Obviously I’ve kept up with fitness. I’ve done my training in the gym but I haven’t hit a ball yet. There’s still so much time until the next serious cricket game is going to happen. So to go back to serious training, I don’t know when it needs to happen. I mean, you can go back to hitting balls, for now. But we could actually be hitting balls for no reason. That’s where I feel I’m at.”Though de Kock has taken what he described as a much-needed break, he will be required to turn out in less than two weeks’ time when a CSA exhibition game is scheduled. The event marks the launch of a new format called 3TC in which three teams will play in the same match and was originally scheduled to take place on June 27 but failure to obtain government permission led to its being pushed back to July 18.De Kock is due to captain one of the teams with proceeds due to go into CSA’s hardship fund, which aims to assist those who livelihoods have been affected by lockdown. Only 24 players are involved in that event (eight per team) and CSA have also named a 45-man high performance squad, who were asked to return to training at their franchise grounds last Monday, but de Kock confirmed he has not done so yet.”Because of the regulations, it’s hard to have such a big squad in a certain environment,” he said. “I’m based in a very remote place. There’s not much cricket around where I live. I’ve made sure my fitness is up to date. Practice almost becomes muscle memory. For me, at this point in my career, a break is more important than training.”De Kock lives in Knysna, a town on South Africa’s Garden Route in the Western Cape. His franchise team, the Titans, is based in Centurion, which is almost 1200 km away and the nearest training facility to him would be St George’s Park in Port Elizabeth, which is 261 km away. But to get there, he would need to cross a into a new province, which is not easy right now.So, de Kock decided to take some time off and address the wounds from South Africa’s toughest summer since readmission. “I’m sure other guys have trained, but I kind of needed a little bit of lockdown. I needed a break to spend time with myself, my family, friends. You know, do my own thing,” he said. “But as soon as we get the full go-ahead, when serious cricket is going to happen, then I’ll get back into it. I’m not too sure when it’s going to happen, but as soon as we get the go ahead then I’ll get back into it.”Uncertainty over South Africa’s future tours program abounds as they await the ICC’s decision over the T20 World Cup and the rescheduling of their tour of the Caribbean. The two-Test, five-T20I series was due to start this month. But with West Indies in England until the end of July, CSA are in talks about alternative dates with nothing confirmed just yet, except for the fact that when the Tests do happen, de Kock will not be captaining the side.”Me and Bouch had a very informal chat and I told him, look, I don’t know how I feel about being Test captain also. The reality is that’s just too much for me to handle. I know that and I realise that. I don’t need all that stress on myself,” de Kock said. “I could see from a mile away that I didn’t need that on top of my shoulders. I’m wanting to come up the order in Test cricket and so I don’t need all that extra pressure.”South Africa have long used de Kock at No.6 or lower despite several calls from former players, including Ashwell Prince, for him to bat higher and it seems that may be on the cards. But for that to happen, South Africa needs to get over the peak of the pandemic, which experts suggest is still several weeks away. “It’s going to be tough to play professional games,” de Kock said. “We’re going to have so many regulations. Realistically, I don’t foresee cricket being played for a while.”

With Che Adams on course to leave as a free agent upon the expiry of his Southampton contract, the Saints are reportedly considering a move to sign a replacement who is looking to rediscover his best form.

Adams' exit looks more of a surprise now that Southampton have made their return to the Premier League, defeating Leeds United in the play-off final at Wembley. But it is an exit they've got to handle nonetheless and replacing the Scotland international will be no easy task even with their returned top-flight status.

Without it, Southampton could have faced the risk of losing further star players, but with it, the focus should be on handing Russell Martin the best possible squad to seal safety at the first time of asking in England's top tier.

One player who could help with that is a familiar face too. According to Graeme Bailey for The Boot Room, Southampton are considering a move to sign Armando Broja, who is reportedly keen on the possibility of returning to St Mary's, where he enjoyed success on loan in the 2021/22 season.

At a career crossroads after struggling on loan at Fulham in the season just gone, a return to familiar surroundings could finally help Broja on his way to rediscovering his best form. The deal may not be one out of reach for the Saints either, given that Chelsea no longer value the forward at £50m, but instead a reported £30m.

Broja has proven his ability at the club before and as Southampton look to replace Adams, the Albanian could be the man they turn towards this summer.

Edu unfortunately missed out on a deal for highly-rated young striker Benjamin Sesko, after multiple reports linking Arsenal with a move for the Slovenian. Sesko had an offer from Arsenal to join, but he instead opted to pen a new deal at Leipzig and remain in Germany for the time being.

Arsenal have turned to alternatives, and it is believed that Bologna star Joshua Zirkzee is among the options considered by Edu. The Dutchman, who racked up 12 goals and seven assists in all competitions, helping his side qualify for the Champions League, could leave for the value of his £34 million release clause.

AC Milan are thought to be really pursuing Zirkzee's signature, though. Indeed, Fabrizio Romano claims the Rossoneri have been working on a deal "for months".

"Let me clarify one thing on Joshua Zirkzee. AC Milan are the clear frontrunners for the Dutch striker," said Romano earlier this week.

"AC Milan have been working on this deal for months. They did a very good job in anticipating the market because Milan started working on this deal at the end of 2023.

"In January, February, March, they started building everything around the player. They have an agreement almost done on the salary. Days ago, they communicated to Bologna that they will trigger the buy option clause for Joshua Zirkzee in case they can agree a deal with player and agents."

According to HITC, Milan are struggling to reach an agreement with the forward, and Zirkzee's agent Joorabchian is currently holding talks with Arsenal as an alternative destination.

Arsenal and other interested English sides want Zirkzee to wait and think about his next landing spot, but Milan are frantically attempting to get him over the line. The Gunners could have time, as it is believed his £34m clause doesn't actually kick in until 1st July.
